Obama, Edwards go after Clinton during debate
Excerpts:
"Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards criticized Clinton for her stance on Iraq, Iran and Social Security.
"The American people ... deserve a president of the United States that they know will tell them the truth and won't say one thing one time and something different at a different time," Edwards said."
and
""I don't think the Republicans got the message that I'm voting and sounding like them," Clinton said.
"If you watched their debate last week, I seemed to be the topic of great conversation and consternation. And that's for a reason, because I have stood against George Bush and his failed policies."
Obama offered a different explanation. "Part of the reason that Republicans, I think, are obsessed with you, Hillary, is because that's a fight they're very comfortable having," Obama said.
'"It is the fight that we've been through since the '90s. And part of the job of the next president is to break the gridlock and to get Democrats and independents and Republicans to start working together to solve these big problems like health care or climate change or energy."
But, said Edwards, "another perspective on why the Republicans keep talking about Sen. Clinton is, Senator, they may actually want to run against you.""

By Gov. Eliot Spitzer - Why I'm Suing the Bush Administration
Excerpt:
"Somebody had to do it.
After months of negotiation and countless attempts at compromise, the Bush administration is still refusing to let New York and other states across the country expand their State Children's Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP). The president is refusing to back down from destructive new rules his Administration has imposed -- the sole purpose of which are to curb bi-partisan state efforts to insure more of our nation's children."

"So I ask President Bush and the Members in Congress who support his veto:
Would you deny your own family what you'll be denying to millions of other families if this bill is vetoed? If you don't believe the federal government should support children's health care, how can you in good conscience accept it for your own families?"

By Gen. Wesley Clark - Take Rush Limbaugh Off Armed Forces Radio
Excerpt:
"Tax dollars are used to fund Armed Forces Radio, and that money is not intended for radio show hosts to spout insults at our soldiers. These "phony soldiers" have simply exercised their right to free speech, as Rush Limbaugh does on a daily basis. Simply because a majority of our troops who return from Iraq disagree with Rush on Bush's failed war policy does not give him the right to dishonor their service."
