ABC News: EXCLUSIVE: Pentagon to Extend Service for All Soilders in Iraq and Afghanistan - Active Duty Tours Go to 15 Months Instead of 12
Note: This is Politics 2.0 Post #400.
Excerpt:
"The Pentagon will extend the tours of duty for every active duty soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan.
As ABC News first reported yesterday, this plan had been in consideration, but will be announced today by the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs."
Alex: Prediction: Unless somebody blinks, I see a potential more serious rush upcoming in regard to discussion of impeachment or other serious political remedy sought to put the brakes on George W. Bush. Furthermore, this is only a guess, but I believe President Bush may be using an aggressive offense as a good defense. If he keeps raising the ante, it not only keeps his opponents on their heels (potentially), but getting only a small portion of what he asks for may result in a net gain for him overall relative to his current position, as opposed to retreating or negotiating to some loss.
