Alleged D.C. Madam Appointed New Attorney - Washington Post
Excerpt:
"The alleged Washington Madam has a new attorney, appointed this morning by a federal judge who hasn't been too keen about the madam's previous civil lawyer.
Deborah Jeane Palfrey will now have Preston Burton, a partner in the Orrick law firm, to defend her against charges of running an illegal D.C. prostitution ring under the guise of an elite escort business.
Burton, who was named by Washingtonian magazine in 2004 as one of Washington's leading criminal defense attorneys, has represented several notable clients, not the least being Monica Lewinsky during the congressional impeachment proceedings against President Clinton. He also represented some of Washington's most infamous accused spies: CIA agent Aldrich H. Ames, former FBI agent Robert Hanssen, and former Defense Intelligence Agency analyst Ana Belen Montes."
