"Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney took 39 percent of the vote and prevailed in the Michigan Republican primary on Tuesday, beating out rival Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who earned 30 percent.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., was the choice of 55 percent of Democrats statewide in a primary where rivals Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., were not on the ballot. Some 40 percent of Michigan voters in the Democratic primary went uncommitted."
